Seth Baylus Leaves Lasting Mark On New Hampshire Sprinting By Mary Albl of DyeStat Seth Baylus made sure his final high school track meet in New Hampshire was a fast one. The Merrimack Valley senior defended his 100- and 200-meter titles Saturday at the New Hampshire Meet of Champions at Sanborn Regional High in Kingston. Baylus, who will enroll at Butler Community College in Kansas this fall, won the 100 in 10.85 seconds and claimed the 200 title in 21.82. Baylus finished his New Hampshire prep season with two Division II records and holds the state 100 meters all-time best with 10.77. Other standout performances from the MOC included Hanover senior Pierce Seigne winning the 800 (1:55.17) and 1,600 (4:17.40). Coe-Brown Academy’s Anders Larson finished second in the pole vault, third in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump. On the girls side, Soraya Ross, a sophomore from Nashua South, swept the 100 (12.46) and 200 (25.50) and ran the anchor on the winning 4x100 relay (49.35). Coe-Brown Academy senior Makena Lee won the pole vault (11 feet). Hopkinton sophomore Grace Hall won the triple jump (36-6.25) and broke her school record. The top six in each event have the opportunity to advance to Saturday, June 11, New England Track and Field Championships in New Britain, Ct.
